Just got back from the vets a little while ago. The prognosis for Kelly is not good. What ever she has is so rare that the vet we saw today has never heard of it much less actually seen a case. Dr. Johnson will be back on wed. and they will consult and contact me with possible treatment options. Either way life span is projected to be 6 months or less and we have already been treating her for close to 2 months. The pathologists report stated this can be caused by the liver or pancreas, suggested treatments include amino acid IV therapy plus several other homeopathic/holistic options. None will be a cure just prolong the inevitable and keep her comfortable. They did remove the stitches from the biopsies and suggested warm Epsom salt baths to try and soften all the dead skin on her feet, hocks and elbows.. She has a yeast infection also so a med to try and control that as well as recommending baby wipes to clean the inflamed areas. She seems to be comfortable for now and her appetite is still good. Im taking it day by day but have resolved myself even before the vet visit today that she wasnt going to be with us much longer. I will not let her suffer and wont let her be used as an experiment.
