Just spoke to GMA News (second largest TV Channel in Philippines) - TopicsExpress

Just spoke to GMA News (second largest TV Channel in Philippines) reporter Micaela Papa ion the importance of climate negotiations especially for highly vulnerable countries like the Philippines. One of the points I made was that we need to hold the oil, coal and gas companies accountable for the their damage. They rake in trillions of dollars from tax payer funded subsidies and when losses are to be made the taxpayer pays but when profits are to be realised a handful of people benefit. Fossil Fuel companies without exception now accept that their core activity is driving carbon pollution but are not transitioning to clean energy option like they should. I reminded them that our team in Lima the climate negotiations are pushing for 100% renewable energy access for all by 2050. This I believe is within the grasp of humanity if our political leaders act in the interests of the majority instead of the handful of powerful people that control our energy system.
