KSRTC face to face with it’s eventual and inevitable collapse. Inefficiency and Corruption are the two basic features of all Public Sector Enterprises and RTC is the best example. Fuel crisis is not the issue. All private sectors are facing this common problem, anywhere in the world. Public sector enterprise should be capable and competent enough to meet all the market demands and operational hurdles faced time to time. Subsidies and support are not the answer and remedy permanent. Employee Unions are trying to hide the actual reasons by citing fuel pricing and fuel price hike. These are new issues. KSRTC problems are inherent there from its very inception. If Unions are so confident, why can’t they take over the industry from the Govt and run profitable?!! Lacs of Rupees are plundered from many Depots vide ticketing fraud. Spare parts, tyre, battery, oil, diesel all are looted from many major workshops. And how can an industry unable to pay salary prompt, offer and maintain a pension scheme?!! Cooking Gas subsidy etc are paid to the beneficiary through Aadhar Card now. A monthly Travelling Allowance of Rs.2000 may be given to all Aadhar Card owners. This will be more beneficial and affordable for the Govt, than feeding a lame horse with hundreds of Crores yearly written off liability amount. Along with Travelling Allowance, shared Auto-Taxi-Tempo-Jeep and Goa like Bike Taxi (pilots) permits also may be given freely, that the passengers will happily manage. They will also avoid unnecessary travelling habits that they can save on the Allowance given, in turn to control fuel consumption and growing traffic problems.
