Katherine and I had THREE flights total. One from Chicago to Detroit. Another from Detroit to Japan. And the last, from Japan to Manila, Philippines. The flight to Detroit wasnt bad. It was maybe TWO hours. and the flight from Japan to Manila was about 4 and a half hours. Still, not too bad. But the flight from Detroit to Japan was 12 hours and 15 minutes.....and you boarded the plane an hour early. Lets put that into perspective for you..... You take Kimberly- a jittery, loud, expressive, spastic type of person and TRAP her on a plane for over 13 hours in a teeny tiny little baby plane seat and make her sit still....in the same spot....with no one to talk to but herself.......- Now add boredom to the mix because Katherine went to sleep :( and this is what you get..... Photos of random people sleeping on a plane. At one point I thought, Maybe Ill just look outside. No. Bad idea. First of all, when you are in the air, the sky is so bright that your eyes burn from the sight. The flight attendants actually ask you to close the shades because its bothersome to everyone else. Secondly, there was nothing to see but the wing of the plane! Even the clouds were boring. Just a huge sheet of whiteness. I watched two movies. I played Bejeweled one hundred thousands million times. I listened to music. I did my best to be entertained. But even if you entertain the mind, the body is still wrestles. PLUS, my butt kept falling asleep and my legs were cramped...and as you can see, Katherine fell asleep all up in my area. I am a person that likes my space......but I was trapped between my sleeping sister, with her mouth wide open (Ill show you those pictures later hahaha) and some random Asian man who didnt speak English at all. I started doing things for him because I was so bored. I ordered him a drink, I fixed his pillow for him, I taught him how to turn his overhead light off and on, I ordered a sandwich for him. We became silent friends. It was a beautiful thing. We used head nods and hand gestures to communicate. We laughed at each other when no matter what we signed we still couldnt understand what was going on. Then the beverage cart came. Hello, would you like a beverage? Yes I would. What is included? Everything, Maam. Ill take a Jack and Coke and keep em comin Lol. I walked around that plane all by myself for at least an hour, maybe even two. I pretended to have to use the washroom several times so I could go and talk to myself in the mirror. I was going insane. Who are you? Are you a human? or are you a plane?.....when will this be over? Everything is so dark :( Do we have any animals to play with? I returned to my seat eventually and decided to listen to music and sing the songs out loud. I didnt care anymore. I couldnt take the silence. And then the Pilot announces, please fastened your seat belts, secure all tray tables, and put your seats in their upright position. We will be landing shortly. AHHHHH! Yes!!!!! Ill be able to walk on the ground and do cartwheels. Juuuuuust long enough to stretch.... And Then get back on another plane! HAH!
