Kindly note Lack of provisions in City DP reagrding Water Mgmt & Rain Water Harvesting (RWH ), 1.40 % Transportation loss between Khadakwasla dam & city filtration plant , due to non existence of old pipe replacement policy. 2. In 1950 population of city was 5 lakh + & now it is 40 lakh + however there is no corresponding increase in water storage, 3. Unequal water distribution ranging from 250Litres pdpp in gaothan Pune to 40 litres pdpp in fringe areas like Kharadi. Remember Pmc is duty bound to supply 135 litres pdpp to citizens. No plans / provisions seems available 4 Improper implementation of RWH policy on new building. Every year almost 1 crore sq ft of Roof top area is added every year. This has potential to capture 70 crore litres of rain water which when channelised in city bore wells will help improve water table. City has more than 7000 bore wells, we only pump out ground water. Natural recharge is drastically reduced due to cocretisation, hence artificial recharge by using RWH 5. Water conservation policy. city has about 25 lakh vehs, daily use of 5 litres of water for cleaning will use 125 lakh litres of clean. No policy exists. we all should raise voices at different levels to resolve this issue. Col S G Dalvi
