Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Romans 6:6 Who is your biggest enemy? Is it the devil? No. It is your old man. Your old man is the you who has not been changed by the Spirit of God. When you received Christ and became born again you became a new creation. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 This new creation though is subject to your own will. You may decide to succumb to the feelings of your flesh, at which point you are no different from the person you were before Christ came into your life. Unfortunately a lot of the time, I am living as this old man. It takes faith to be the new creation in Christ. It is not natural to be the new creation in Christ. Day by day we need to have awareness of who it is who is directing our path. If our will is conformed to Christ, by the Holy Spirit, by an act of faith on our part, then we are truly the new Creation in Christ. If we dont even concern ourselves with this, and just wake up and live our life normally without prayer, without the Bible, without awareness of the Spirit, then we will be allowing the old man to be making the decisions for our life. And this old man is a servant of the devil. His only interest is self-pleasure. He is a liar, and a disgusting human being. Dont be deceived. Make the conscious decision right now to kill the old man. Pray this, Father, I recognize that I have been led and controlled by my flesh today. Lord, I desire to be led by your Spirit. I by faith crucify that old man that has been lying and destroying my life on the cross with you, that I would not serve sin any longer today. As in the Lords prayer, let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, even in my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
