LEADERSHIP TRAITS A good sense of maturity, which is a good trait of a great leader, is the ability to keep ones head high and maintain a proactive attitude even at the very face of serious challenges and failures. A great leader never allows those subordinate to him to discourage him, rather he siezes every opportunity, in a discouraging situation to encourage others and bring out the best in them - and thus they soar to greater heights even amidst great challenges, and this defines their leverage. Such leaders find it as an incumbent duty to bring out the best in others and help them realise their potentials. They dont give excuses. David knows thìs very well, and in 1Sam.30:1-10, he embacked on a desperate battle of recovery with the very troop of his that were speaking of stoning him due to their great depression: how he must have motivated them, too! They were busy thinking of the problem until they started discussing to destroy their leader; but David was busy thinking of a solution, and not the problem - and he definitely found one - until he was able to recover all. This is leadership, this is proactivity! And he did recover all, indeed.
