La Liga Latina Humanitarian Aid to Venezuela Event This post is in English for EVERYONE to understand what’s going on in Venezuela right now. Not getting politics involved, let me just say that from a humanitarian stand, they need our help. The country is in turmoil because of violence and the lack of items of first necessity. Myself (Itamar Martinez) and another member of La Liga Latina, Jose Toledo, we visited Venezuela Feb 22-25th to see first hand the situation there. We asked the people there what they needed. We saw and experienced the reality of what that country is going thru. People there need our help and even thou we know that we are not going to fix their problem, if we can help JUST ONE person, it is worth it. You might think, well but I’m NOT Venezuelan or I’m NOT with neither one of the political parties there. GREAT! We still need your help!! YOU ARE HUMAN and THIS event is to hopefully touch your heart and help another human just like you. I’m not Venezuelan either. As a matter of fact, none of the members of La Liga Latina are from Venezuela (Marisaida, Rocio or Mirelia), but we are HUMANS and want to help fellow humans during these challenging times. With that said, we support our Venezuelan friends that want peace and prosperity for their beautiful country. We realize that “all men are created equal” and our brothers and sisters from Venezuela need our love and support during these challenging times. Instead of fighting over some political ideology, if you are American, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Colombian, Peruvian, Guatemala, Salvador, Panama, Honduras, Brazil etc etc etc, we should ALL be supporting and praying for the peace and well being of our Venezuelan human family. So let’s do something for them. La Liga Latina is a non-profit organization that is NOT into politics or religion. We are here to serve the needs of our Tampa Bay community but this time we are extending our helping hand to another country. This event is NOT a political event. It’s a Humanitarian Event. On Sunday March 23, 2014 from 1-3pm at the office of Jose Toledo 5645 Hoover blvd Tampa Fl 33634, we will be collecting articles of 1st necessity to take to Venezuela to distribute to those in need. Those items WILL BE LOCKED in a room inside the office until the trip there can be made, within the following couple of weeks. Some of the needed items are found below.
