Last evening I was contacted by someone who is not one of my usual sources. This person told me the following: 1. Mr Johnny Welshman, when he last arrived in Guyana was met at the airport by the head of a very controversial government agency. This head of the government agency is himself very controversial and he transported Mr. Welshman to Georgetown in his vehicle. This government agency disseminates information. 2. Mr. Welshman was staying at a well known city hotel the owner of which is closely associated with a particular member of cabinet. This city hotel, I am advised, is frequented, on a weekly basis, by the holder of one of the highest offices in the land. 3. Mr. Welshman was in fact having meetings and discussions with officials of the government, and did in fact travel to Guyana, at the expense of persons/entities other than himself, for the purposes of these meetings which were to discuss his role in the planned formation of an government friendly entity to address LGBT issues. 4. Mr. Welshman is currently being accommodated at the home of an editor of a private media house which is very friendly to the government and which is owned and directed by persons said to be longstanding in the ruling party. For clarity the media house is not Kaieteur News, Stabroek News, Capitol News, Guyana Times, TVG, Prime News or iNewsGuyana.
