Last night, my daughter and I went to Halloween City, our local seasonal shop for decorations and costumes for the muggles. Upon entering, Aidan, my youngest grandson, was taken aback by the animatronic displays......motion and sound activated they groaned, moaned and moved as he went by. A young clerk behind the counter was soon shadowing my steps through the store. He had noticed my pentacle and was eager to make sure I found all that I was looking for. He made apologies for the whimsical way in which our sabbat was looked upon. We were soon engaged in conversation, wherein he told me he was also pagan, he follows the Norse traditions with Wicca blended in. His enthusiasm for life was evident in his animated speech.....we conversed all the way through to my checkout, where he then handed me his phone number.....well!! you can imagine the cougar jokes that my daughter then railed me with! He just wanted contact with someone that could perhaps help him along the path......although adorably cute, he could not have been more than twenty.....it left me with a feeling of hopefulness, a bliss.......we are not as few as people would have us believe......"organized" religions are not feeding the innate longing of the spirit that each of us has......we are Children of the Universe.....sons and daughters of the Moon....
