Last night was a first for me: watching Unrehearsed Shakespeare, properly known as First Folio Cue Script Technique. About sixteen Wichita actors, culminated a weeks workshop with a public performance of The Comedy of Errors without rehearsal. The actors didnt know what role they would play until an hour before curtain. Only the prompter had a copy of the full script and the actors carried small scrolls with only their lines and the last four syllables of the line before them. The audience was invited to respond verbally as freely as they wanted. I think entrances and exits were posted at several places outside of the house. The actors pulled out all the stops and flew without a net for two hours. Bravi to my brave and insane theatre peeps!
