Latest email from John: Oh Cupids of the Roof Garden, Oh Children of the Dough: Well another Valentines Dinner has come and gone and once again the team was able to get the job done. You should be proud of your accomplishment. It takes alot of dedication and cooperation to make an event like this successful. Please also recognize how many people who are no longer directly connected to our team jumped in to help out this year. They didnt do it because they like to hang out in mood setting lighting, beautifully decorated space, wash dirty dishes, or pack a pan with lasagna ingredients.......they participated because they know it takes a significant number of warm bodies working together to make the event and they believe in the activities that the raised funds will allow our youth to participate in. Job well done by all. Special thanks to Chef Lynnardo for taking the lead on the project and to all who decorated the hall......it makes the evening special for the participants. So lets look ahead.......... Sunday March 23 during Sunday School hour we will be making dough to use in the ham pot pie for our Lenten Meal to be served on Wednesday March 26. So all yoots and parental units who want to demonstrate their mixing, kneading and rolling skills are asked to be in the kitchen after early church or say 9:00 am. Please bring pizza cutters and rolling pins to work on the dough. It would be neat if some small cookie cutters (1 to 2 inches) of various shapes were used to provide conversation pieces in our delicious ham pot pie. Stars, bells, or whatever you may have laying around in that special drawer. On Wednesday March 26, please be present in the hall to get ready to serve the meal by 4:30 pm. • Miss Beth Snyd is planning on producing a Lenten Play on Palm Sunday April 13. I am sure she will need some thespians for this years production, so when she asks you to participate......just say YES. Oh, and she is looking for a male with visible muscles to play the lead.....that may be hard to find in our crew.....however she will be scheduling pose downs in the near future, so guys or dudes, start practicing your front double biceps, front lat spread, back lat spread, side triceps, side chest, and thigh isolation poses. WE WANT TO PUMP YOU UP!!!! • Easter Breakfast will be prepared and served by our crew on April 20. The youth will also sell tickets. The hall will be set up on Saturday April 19 starting at 9:00 am. • Mothers Day meal will be on May 11. Additional details to follow. • Mission Trip is July 20 to 24. Cost per youth is $75.00. You must sign-up if you want to go......there are 14 people already signed up to participate. • Servant Week will be July 28 to August 1........additional details to follow. • There will be a meeting on June 1st for those interested in attending the ELCA Youth Gathering 2015 in Detroit. Please attend the meeting to get information about this activity. • Pastor Ed is also interested in hearing from those who would like to travel to Washington D.C. or New York City in January 2015. The next FLC Senior High Youth Ministry Team meeting will be on March 30 at 11:45 am in the Library. Please feel welcolme to attend. Till next time, John P.S. The link below is to a song that I promised to share with Pastor Ed after one of his sermons that included the characters Bud and Sissy from the movie Urban Cowboy. I dont think he has been waiting in any great anticipation, but I finally got around to spending the time to find and link it. So I am killing two birds with one stone with this e-mail He claimed he had never heard of the song, and that was probably due to my poor rendition of it. If he hasnt heard this song before, I will personally have to broaden his horizons a bit more and share my music library with him. One problem though, I dont think the song supports the theme of his sermon, because I think the idea was not to go honky tokin...... Oh well, its a decent old school song.......its got a good beat, Ill give it a 98.
