Lazy--Please end the deification of this word by way of its glib - TopicsExpress

Lazy--Please end the deification of this word by way of its glib usage for the purposes of slander and marginalization..Calling a person lazy is a shunning judgment intended to disparage the other while aggrandizing the critics false ego.. Without taking into account the parameters shaping the actions and choices of the so-called lazy, this particular condemnation is really no better than adjectives we (hopefully) have accepted as being socially inapprorpriate, i.e. stupid, ugly, retarded, etc... A person could appear indolent for countless reasons--physical or psychological pain; perhaps the individuals energies have been spread so thin from necessary efforts invested across the spectrum of his/her unique life circumstances they are merely exhibiting signs of their strain... Bottom line, each persons experience, both within and externally, is wholly their own..Im sickened by the overarching social imperative that all of us must be automated, carbon-copy drones, identical in spirit and wish..People are intrinsically different from each other and the gifts inherent to one person are often the deficits of another... The fact corporations have embedded their hooks into the essential soul of modern life, thereby demanding an exceeding level of uniformity among the working society has likely played a role in the acceptance of the deification of lazy..The corporate boss who chides an employee they regard as lazy should perhaps try their own talents at an excercise which might, despite any level of practice, remain feeling foreign to them..If we lived in a world which, say--to use an absurd, neutral example--placed a premium reward on acumen for the game of squash, rather than corporate compliance or white collar nuance, how might the rules be different?..Perhaps wed start seeing through the looking glass as roles are exchanged--the mean-spirited, type-a personalities high atop the rubric we presently inhabit might find themselves oppressed, helpless underlings in this squash-oriented parallel universe... It is a referendum on human nature itself as to whether the elite squash players would deride the lesser players with terms like lazy..I have little doubt they would; to quote Jung, an inflated consciousness is always egocentric and conscious of nothing but its own existence..However, the fact we as people have proven our capacity to evolve and progress into more enlightened and compassionate beings gives me reason to believe not any of our present mires are inescapable..In the words, again of Jung, where love rules, there is no will to power; and where power predominates, there love is lacking; the one is the shadow of the other.
