Let me share this story before I tie my son in a bow and attach - TopicsExpress

Let me share this story before I tie my son in a bow and attach him to the post out on the porch. I got up this morning with the hope that it would be a no problem morning? Well I can hope. I was sleeping on a desert island surrounded by crystal clear water, little did I know that water would be only steps away. The freezer draw was left open (again) and everything defrosted. So I did what any sensible mother would do, I called a family meeting. My daughter didn’t use the freezer, nor did my parents or the dogs. My son admitted that his girlfriend probably left it open by accident when she came down to get ice. Okay, accidents happen. So here’s where the bow comes in. I, without yelling or giving a punishment that doesn’t fit the crime. I simply asked him to be more aware of what he’s not responsible for. I was then informed by my son that he didn’t know of any other mother that complains about housekeeping. None of his friends mothers complain about housekeeping and that all of his friends know me and they know how I am. I informed my son that I am purchasing a freezer for the basement and he is now responsible for purchasing his own food and storing it in the freezer in the basement. He say’s, What if I need ice cubes? I said you will find me wherever I am so that I can open the bottom freezer for him. I don’t complain when he leaves his sneakers or work shoes behind the bathroom door and scares the heck out of me. I don’t complain when I’m still sleeping on my island and he wakes me up at whatever hour with Mom, it’s just the way he says it that leads me to know it has to do with money. Is the children’s orphanage in New Haven still there?
