Linda and I have been dealing with a serious decision for about two months now and we have some unfortunate news. Apex RC is not able to continue operating at its current location here in Brantford. The original arrangement here was a one year lease with a buy out attached. Based on a number of factors including, finance, zoning, concessions, complaints and future considerations with Brant County we are unable to commit. Of course this is a tough blow to both Linda and I personally and we feel terrible that our racing program will end. That does not however mean the end to Apex, it just means that we will have to consider locations that fit the bill and one which allows us to do everything required to have a complete facility. There are a couple of blank slates that are within our means which we are considering but nothing that will come quickly. As some of you know we’ve had issues with the County’s Health Department and Fire Department due to an unsubstantiated complaint by a begrudged individual. This seems to be a cancer at other RC related facilities and not exclusive to ours as you all know. When you start to add these things up you have to look in the mirror and ask yourself if this is what you want and if it’s the correct business decision. Furthermore who would do this type of thing with intent to stifle one’s ability to run a complete business? I also dealt with a complaint while in Ottawa pertaining to the race on the 20th which again was unsubstantiated. We will be open on the outdoor track weather permitting until this Sunday the 3rd as usual. After that we will no longer be open. There will be a laundry list of things that we will sell and things that we will hang onto for now. If anyone needs / wants anything from the track PM me directly please. We really do want to acknowledge each and every one of you who became our friends here at the track and beyond. While this is a tough one to swallow we will be out there racing and supporting the other tracks. We wish you all well and thank you again for being a part of our rc lives.
