Local Elections Today: Fairfax City and Town of Vienna Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. There are contested races for Council in both jurisdictions and a contested race for Mayor in Fairfax City. I was out there at 6:03 a.m. to shake hands at Fairfax City Hall, which is City precinct #4. As of 7:45 a.m., there had been about sixty voters. There was a crowd of volunteer poll workers, but we spent most the time talking to each other. Have a hearing in Leesburg at 1:00 p.m. and will definitely stop by the Vienna Community Center on the way back to the office. The whole town votes there. In the City, there will be a reception tonight at City Hall to see the results. I’ll see you there about 7:30 pm.
