Look at what I have been up to today. Making a diy milking machine ! Used a foodsaver vacuum sealer, food grade poly tube, a Tee, 2 grommets and 2 syringes and a mason jar, lid and ring. It worked great ! Lil Dove, my doe, was freaked out a bit (from the noise of the vacuum sealer), but she soon calmed down. She was a little slow letting down her milk, but as she gets used to it, that wont be a problem. I may go back with 5/16 tubing for the jar to teat part. Hubby had to heat the tubing to make it stretch to fit for me. Not bad for my first attempt. Hubby should have no trouble milking while Im down with my knee surgery now ! ;) Oh, total cost... about $30-$35.00 ! ( I already had the jar, lid and ring.)
