Looks like my landlord is threatening to evict me, if I dont renew my lease by...yesterday. Last Thursday evening I came home from work, with the following note attached to my doorknob: July 2, 2014 Dear Resident, According to our records your lease is expiring in August 2014 [it expires Aug 31]. Please take advantage of our final renewal offer! [at this point, I had not seen or heard any offers from them] To avoid having your apartment re-rented, it is imperative that you sign a new rental agreement. If we do not hear from you by, Monday 7/7/2014 your apartment will be placed on notice to vacate. We hope you are enjoying your residency with us, and we look forward to finalizing your lease arrangements. Should you have any additional questions or concerns [additional?], please feel free to contact our office at 773-458-5077, ext. 3. Sincerely, [not signed] MAC Property Management, LLC Resident Services department 773 548 5077 #3 I read my lease twice yesterday, Nothing says I have to renew by any specified date, or number of days prior to expiration. According to illinoislegalaid.org, there is nothing in the law requiring me to do so, either. I still feel anxiety. Does MAC Properties know something I dont know?
