Lost a part of my younger self this past week, when Ron Fournier passed away. A friend along with his wife Flo. Our families went through being new on the Detroit Police Department and each of us having four babies. Having Granny Sharp watch all eight of them at times. (Mom, I want my peanut butter and jelly the way she does it!) They were the years of not affording baby sitters, so we would bundle up the kids , go to each others house, and they would sleep on the floor while we played endless games of cards. Good friends who were there in the bad times, like the riots, and the great times, like at the cottage on Lake Erie. I miss you Ron. Flo, I hope to get in a visit with you in the near future.
