Louis Aulbach and I had a great time at the River Oaks Bookstore on July 31. Juan and Jean hosted a book signing event for The Fresno Rim, our first in a series of hiking guides to the Big Bend Ranch State Park. Our special guest was Marian Fowlkes Minniece who was our inspiration for writing the book -- she grew up on the ranch that became Big Bend Ranch State Park and shared so many personal stories and photos. The great news is that River Oaks Bookstore is now stocking all our books including two books about Houston - Camp Logan Houston Texas 1917 - 1919 and Buffalo Bayou: An Echo of Houstons Wilderness Beginnings.
