Love Bugs!! I think it was about 2-3 years ago that I was sitting in The Potters House of Dallas and Bishop Jakes was ministering to us. He said something so profound as he shared an experience that he had; I believe, the year before. This is what he stated...not verbatim but the context is in tact: He spoke about a time when he was going to minister at a church and how when he landed in the city, an overwhelming sense of fear came over him. He said that it shocked him because he has spoken all over the world and that he hadnt felt like that is years!! It was not normal for him. He asked God immediately what it was and the Holy Spirit revealed that it was his flesh. He said the Holy Spirit told him: You cant be self-conscious AND God-conscious at the same time. I almost fell out of my chair!!! That was SO profound to me! He said that he had to immediately check himself and understand that his mission had absolutely NOTHING to do with him and that his nerves would cease as he focused on God and not himself. You see the people that he was going to serve wanted more of Jesus. They wanted to hear what the Lord was saying and Bishop Jakes was merely a vessel to deliver the word. We must remember that when God calls us to a place, to a person, group or task, that it is NOT about us! We MUST put away ALL inhibitions, focus on God and allow the Holy Spirit to work. It is NOT us that delivers, sets free, destroys the yoke, but it is the POWER and AUTHORITY of God that we come and exhibit signs and wonders. Our WORDS and PRESENCE have POWER because God is moving and using us as vessels. When I TELL you that this changed my LIFE...I can now speak up, speak out, speak boldly because the ORDERS have been drawn and the ASSIGNMENT has been given!! Its not about you boo!!! God is raising a standard and to whom much is given MUCH IS REQUIRED...dont forget who sent cha!!! Stay God-conscious (focused) and watch as fear and nervousness (self-conscious) dissipate!!! Thank you Lord for your revelation!!
