MICRO FINANCE SPECIALISED OFFICER VACANCY ANNOUNCEM ENT Kabar ole Research and Resource Centre (KRC) is a well - established NGO operating in the Rwenzori Region of Western Uganda. Founded in 1996, with a research mission an d a long- term commitment to understanding the measures and d rivers of poverty and its solutions, KRC has accumulated subs tantial experience in research and created numerous develop ment programs based on community analyses of the activit ies which would be most helpful in achieving sustainable and equitable socio-economic development. KRC invites applications for employment from suitab le qualified dynamic and competent Ugandans willing to work with microfinance structures and systems for smallholder farmers and farmer organizations in the Rwenzori Region. Th e job will be on contractual basis depending on merit and requ irements of Farmers Enterprise Development Unit (FEDU) for the following position: POSITION: MICRO FINANCE SPECIALISED OFFICER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • The Project manager is responsible for the overall management and coordination of project work • supervision of Officers under the project, • Ensure quality control in all activities for compli ance to the proposals and contractual 0bligations • Take lead resource in mobilization for the program, unit and KRC • Networking with stakeholders in the Microfinance in dustry • Offer capacity building services to the Microfinanc e Associations and marketing Associations • Reporting and harmonizing project work with the ove rall organizational development interventions • Strategic planning and reporting. • Coordinates all the different supported groups unde r the project. • Represent the institution in the different platform s and strategic engagements • To be in charge of monitoring and evaluation of the project activities • To search and exploit brokerage opportunities in th e Micro finance industry. • To offer consultancy services on behalf of the organization. • Updating the regional contextual analysis in the microfinance sector • Advise on economic value chain financing options • Coordinate the advocacy agenda in microfinance. QUALIFICATIONS Excellent academic background with a degree in deve lopment studies in social work, economics, Business Adminis tration, Commerce, and Microfinance in a recognized Universi ty. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 3 years experience in management and sup port of microfinance initiatives targeting small holder far mers. Demonstrated capacity in enhancing the relationship between production, marketing and access to finance for sma ll holder farmers. Have experience in building structures and systems for rural micro finance organizations including audit a nd establishment of internal controls. Have knowledge of the microfinance regulatory framework and applicable la ws . SKILLS • Strong interpersonal and networking skills • Well developed leadership skills including the abil ity to lead a team work environment. • Demonstrated experience and ability to work in mult iple teams to drive the microfinance agenda • Skills in auditing and financial management • Ability to analyze value chain financing options • Highly developed communication skills (including pu blic speaking, PR and one to one) • Excellent writing skills including logical and clea r presentation skills and ability to comply to timeli nes. • Ability to track results and derive an advocacy age nda • Demonstrated experience in institutional fundraisin g will be an added advantage HOW TO APPLY Application should be sent to the Human Resource manager, Kabarole Research & Resource Center, plot 28, Mugur usi Road, P.O Box 782, Fort-Portal and should include the following documentation: • A complete and signed application letter • A curriculum Vitae / Resume • Copies of academic Transcripts • Names, contact numbers and addresses of three (3) professional references. • A CONCEPT PAPER on the recent trends in the Microfinance industry in Uganda showing opportuniti es available and challenges faced by rural micro finan ce institutions and offer recommendations..
