MOBILISING THE YOUTH Why should Vision Africa ultimately be embraced and driven by the youth? ¤ Because 62% of the African population is below the age of 25. ¤ Becasue their future is ahead of them and they are craving for a better Africa ¤ Because they are now better informed and connected ¤ Because Africa will have to face the enormous challenge to address the needs of 200 million Africans entering the job market ¤ Because they are the ones who will ultimately inherit the continent. ¤ Because they are more demanding and more proactive. The real questions governments should be asking themselves are the following ones. Are we preparing our youth for the future? Are we preparing them to compete in a global economy? Are we teaching them to think critically?
