MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES NOW OWN ALL BUT FOUR OF QUEENSLANDS SUGAR - TopicsExpress

MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES NOW OWN ALL BUT FOUR OF QUEENSLANDS SUGAR MILLS The bitter divide over Australias export sugar future has deepened, with another major milling company announcing it will quit the marketing pool. The countrys largest sugar producer, Wilmar, served notice earlier this year it would leave Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL), and now the Thai-owned MSF Sugar will also go it alone after the 2016 season. Innisfail Canegrowers chairman Joe Marano says todays announcement sends a clear signal to growers their opinion does not matter to the multinational companies who now own all but four of Queenslands sugar mills. mobile.abc.net.au/news/2014-06-27/another-miller-pulls-the-pin-on-qsl-sugar-pool/5555194
