MY LOVE-HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH FACEBOOK This thing called social media is a blessing-curse. Sometimes as I a reading various post I get so frustrated that I feel a !@#$%^&* rising up within me. Sometimes, instead of !@#$%^&*ing, I will respond to something that is just as negative or try to argue my point to prove the other person wrong. Of course no amount of debate and personal facts changes anyones opinion and divisions and splits and schisms prevails. At other times, I love the connection with people that I have not heard from in years. I love the aspect of being able to post prayer requests and actually use my friend list as a prayer list as I go through it and breath prayers for individual people. I like to be able to use for example The Ruminators Sunday School Class Group as a tool of encouragement and edification. At some point on my Facebook journey I determined to use my post as a source for positive post. I dont deny the negative reality of this world that we live in, but I do deny reality the right to rule my life. As long as I have Facebook and Facebook DOES NOT have me, I stay in balance. Many times I wonder IF anyone actually reads my post and does anything I post make any kind of positive influence in a negative world. In The Ruminator Sunday School Group I see that 1,000,000 people have seen the post and two people liked the post, and one of those two that liked the post was me. Well, I may be exaggerating, but I sit there and think am I spinning my wheels for nothing, but then out of the blue someone will private message me how they needed to hear whatever was written. Ya never know who is watching, listening or reading. Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth (or your fingers on your keyboard; emphasis mine) but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear (or read on Facebook, emphasis mine). (Ephesians 4:30) So, I will keep on posting, keep on reading, keep on allowing cat lovers to use my page as an outlet for their frivolity of posting cute pictures that makes me, well, sick. r.l.b.
