It has become painfully obvious from these meetings that the Hwn leaders who called you here have done so without the consent of their people. This started with the passing of congressional laws; we are now at the bottom of the barrel asking to make administrative changes. This is the too little. Hawaii is now working towards independence and working towards the unification of our people. That is the too late. Your last minute process is separating us between choosing between being an Indian tribe and independence. Hawaiians are calling for unitiy for independence, and so much more. Mahalo for hitting the bee hive and waking up our people. We are putting into the Federal Register the same love of our country as our kūpuna. Mahalo.
