Maintenance Assistant (Blue Island, IL) Small privately owned manufacturer looking to add to the maintenance department. Position requires performance of a range of duties including property maintenance, electrical, troubleshooting, procuring of parts/repairs. Warm working conditions in the summer depending on the task and plant department. Responsibilities: 1. Performs a variety of electrical trade functions to include installation, maintenance and repair of equipment 2. Performs checks and balances on machines to assure the proper functioning . 3. Inspects, tests and adjusts all systems, machinery and equipment per maintenance schedule 4. Responds to verbal or written instructions for safety and security calls regarding machinery. 5. Inspects damaged parts, determines nature of repair and uses repair tools to rework or refinish worn or damaged parts 6. Upkeeps the grounds to include mowing, shrubs, trees, general yard work and parking lot repairs. 7. Repairs minor problems of buildings and foundations to include the roof, ceilings, walls, floors, basements and all mechanical contents of the building. 8. Delivers and/or picks up supplies when needed. 9. Applies general knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, welding, painting and masonry work as needed. 10. Resolves problems and discrepancies with jobs and/or interacts with management to amend the issue. 11. Records repair and preventative maintenance details into electronic systems 12. Maintains work area in a neat and clean manner. 13. Returns tools and unused maintenance supplies to maintenance room at end of each day. 14. Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures. 15. Performs other related duties as assigned. Email resume to [email protected]
