Maintenance Superintendent [Apply]Engineering & Technical, INTL - Africa Lesotho - A Mine in Lesotho has a vacancy for a Maintenance Superintendent MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT Under the direct supervision of the Contract Manager, In charge of coordinating the maintenance, repairs, servicing and allocation of equipment and fleet to ensure that site operations progress is not hampered as a result of breakdown and idle time. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interface with subcontractors’ managers and other senior personnel on daily basis regarding efficient and effective systems of equipment / machinery servicing, maintenance and repairs. Continuously monitor spare parts and component stock levels and adjust according to equipments/machinery age and usage. Plan and keep record of the company fleet on site and ensure that their documentation gets updated as necessary. Play an active role in managing and controlling expenses of the maintenance department. Coordinate all workshop activities with the subcontractors to ensure that the maintenance, servicing and repairs of machinery/equipment are in accordance with the company procedures and contract agreement. Coordinate and implement the company planned maintenance systems and procedures for equipment/machinery with the subcontractors. Ensure that the stores facilities maintain stock levels and stock database systems in accordance with the company procedures. Control all the company fleet on site, including light vehicles. Prepare monthly, weekly and daily workshop progress reports for reporting to the Contract Manager Manager. Ensure that all workshop personnel work within the company’s procedures for health safety and environment, operations and quality assurance KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Good coaching and leadership skills. Good negotiation and communication skills. Sound knowledge and interpretation of relevant legislation. Critical thinking is of utmost importance. Even-tempered and patience. Ability to cope with changes. Highly motivated ad willing to maintain own personal development. Computer literate (excel, word etc). Good report writing and record keeping skills. Exposure to budgeting. Energetic, enthusiastic, conscientious and ability to work under pressure. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: Past working experience in management of fleet and mechanical work Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
