March 13 (Adapted from J.Smith) “Seek those things which are above,” Colossians 3 v.1 What things? Holiness- or being like Jesus and devotion to His service; and happiness which flows from the knowledge of God, the presence of Jesus and delight in His will. Seek those things which come down from heaven; faith which feeds on God’s Word, love which flows from God and from the believer to Jesus; fellowship with God and all spiritual believers. Seek those things earnestly; constantly prefer them to earthly things. God gives freely. If you do not have ,it’s because you do not ask. Ask and receive that your joy may be full. ’Set your sights on the realities of heaven.’ ‘And when this mortal life is past, and earthly days shall cease, I shall possess with Christ at last eternal joy and peace. The earth will soon dissolve like snow, the sun no longer shine; But God, who called me here below, will be for ever mine.’ (John Newton.)
