Media, other people and general Muslims, these all are not complete sources to know about Islam, although they can help you somehow and somewhat about Islam. But the real sources are the Quran and the authentic books of Hadith, and some reliable and well-known scholars of Islam and Imaams who can help you to understand about Islam in the light of Quran and Hadith, in the light of science and other scriptures.
