Meet Gordie - From severe neglect to a beautiful Gelding who is full of love, rides like a dream and loves attention. Here is Gordies story. We were called to check on a herd of Horses who were not being fed. Gordie was one of the Horses. He was in the worst shape so we offered to take him to our Rescue/Shelter. The Owner refused. But he agreed to let our Vet check him out at our cost. Our Vet checked him out and upon arrival she estimated he was 350 - 400 lbs underweight. Gordie spent his days chained by his back feet to a clothes line and his former Owner felt this was ok also. He was attacked by a Bobcat and had a severe open wound to his backend. His former Owner refused medical treatment on him. Thankfully that was the kicker and we were allowed to get an search warrant and remove him from his Owner. We are so happy he is out of that horrible situation. He is an older gelding and he has an important job here at our Rescue/Shelter. He helps guide one of our blind Horses through his day. They spend their days together in a paddock that they call home. Love you Gordie!! So glad you are safe with us.
