Mercury Retrograde October 21st - November 10th Most people may have noticed that the morning got off to a bit of a slow start as this is day one of Mercurys three-week retrograde in tropical Scorpio. The geocentric retrograde will last to November 10th, when Mercury will effectively station direct from the view of those on Earth. Earlier this morning, even Facebook was affected, according to USA Today: Having trouble with Facebook this morning? It seems you are not alone. Some users may be running into errors whenever they try to share a status update or send messages to friends. When attempting to post an update, users may see a message like there was an error updating your status. News of Facebook issues first surfaced through a series of posts on Twitter. Weve reached out to Facebook for more details. Update at 10:29 a.m. ET: Some Facebook users might find functions on the social network working normally. However, several users have reached out on Twitter to note Facebook still remains down. Still no comment from Facebook on the reason for the outage. Facebook will be up, however, do expect disruptions from time to time due to Mercurys retrograde motion over the next three weeks. Mercurys Effect: Revise, Review, Redo Mercury stationed retrograde (Rx) at 18-degrees Scorpio on Monday, Oct. 21, at 6:28 A.M., EDT. For the next 20 days, Mercury will Rx in motion back across tropical Scorpio, from 18-degrees where it turned retrograde, to 2-Scorpio, where Mercury will then station direct, on Sunday, November 10th, at 4:11 P.M., EST. The heliocentric motion of Mercury is also shown among the three charts attached. Mercury will make conjunction with the Earth, by heliocentric motion, on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at 4:22 p.m., EDT. The effects can range from sluggishness to a slowing down of everyday matters to changes in the atmosphere. Mercurys retrograde can be particularly draining for those who expect things to get accomplished at a good clip with a minimum of barriers and delays. I advise the best way to apply yourselves through the rest of October and then into November is to pace yourself well. Use this time to prepare for the coming winter season. Revise, review and redo. That is the motto for a Mercury retrograde. Consider the next three weeks into early November to be a time to pace yourself well. Do not expect instant success on matters that require prudence, patience and common sense. Rather, patiently plod your way forward into November. The New Moon will take place on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at 11-Scorpio. Over this Mercury retrograde, few things to remember, Revise plans for the future. Then review your domestic, personal and professional objectives and goals over the course of Mercurys retrograde. Then, begin to redo as Mercury stations direct on November 10th. Continue to redo as Mercury heads forward in Scorpio in November, so that by the time Mercury enters tropical Sagittarius on Dec. 4-5, 2013, you will be well-positioned, just as the winter solstice nears. Also, daylight saving time will end early Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, the same day as the New Moon, just as the Sun sets about 4:50 p.m. and does not rise until nearly quarter to seven A.M. the next morning. This change means that there will be more sunlight in the morning hours, as the Sun decreases in light for the northern hemisphere during late afternoons as we approach the winter solstice in mid-December. During mid-through-late autumn, drivers going to work will head out while it is still dark, and then return home after the Sun has set before 5 p.m. So caution on the roads for all is urged until drivers are able to adjust to the shifting of the Suns light dispersion. The effects on peoples attitudes are most noticeable as winter approaches. As the nights get longer, the ability to absorb sunlight is reduced unless you are out in the mornings and early afternoon taking in the Sun. Sluggishness is bound to set in, leading to slip-ups in concentration, along with forgetfulness and emotional irritation. Moreover, the air is about to get much cooler as we near late October, with temperatures for a third of the country to the east coast falling to about 10-15 degrees below normal for this time of year. So, starting taking your Cod Liver Oil in the mornings, eat a good breakfast, and fight the urge to head into nightowl mode during this Mercury retrograde if you can help it. Before the time changes back to standard daylight time on November 3rd, try to get as much sunlight as you can. That means going to bed earlier than normal, and then rising early, so that you can soak up as much sunlight as possible as the Sun declines over the northern hemisphere.
