Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Michael’s Mum well and truly spilled the beans on the couple who are believed to be separated. Michael, 69, and Catherine, 44 announced they were separating in August of last year however, Diana, 91 says how they shared ‘too much affection’ and just couldn’t stay apart for long. Diana confirmed: “They are together. I knew they would work it out. They’re both gentle people, not hysterical. They’re always very affectionate and easy with each other. I figured the more everybody stayed out of it, the better.” And it’s believed that after months of living apart Michael and Catherine are back together under one roof in New York with their children Dylan, 13, and Carys, ten. The pair are believed to have taken three holidays together in attempt to reconcile their differences and get their marriage back on track. “They’re together, we know that. They spent three long vacations together. Something’s working,” says Diana. “They went to Canada, they have a place in Quebec, they went to Bermuda and they went to the Caribbean with the kids on vacation. They’ve had a lot of time in the last two months,” And it’s believed that Michael has also learned to deal with Catherine’s bipolar disorder which was believed to cause a number of problems in their relationship. “It’s probably not an easy thing to understand if you don’t have it yourself. But he’s an understanding person,” says his mother.
