Michael Woods So lets see if Ive got this straight... If Im on Invalidity pension of 193.50eu per week, Im expected to pay water charges. If Im on jobseekers benefit/allowance of 188eu per week, Im expected to pay water charges. If Im on an old age pension of 210eu per week, Im expected to pay water charges. If Im on a carers allowance of 204eu per week, Im expected to pay water charges. If I am a worker on a minimum wage of 8.65eu per hour, Im expected to pay water charges. If I am a low to middle income earner who is already paying USC, PAYE, PRSI, property tax, road tax, bin charges and VAT on just about everything I buy, Im expected to pay water charges. If Im one of the thousands of people whose mortgages is in arrears and homes are in negative equity, Im expected to pay water charges. If Im one of the countless amount living hand to mouth every day, trying to put food on the table and keep a roof over my familys heads, Im expected to pay water charges. IF IM THE 3rd HIGHEST PAID HEAD OF GOVERNMENT IN THE EU, (200,000EU per anum), TANAISTE, (184,405eu per anum) A MINISTER IN THE IRISH CABINET,(169,275 per anum) OR A JUNIOR MINISTER, (In excess of 120,000eu per anum) THEN I DONT HAVE TO PAY WATER CHARGES.....NO, HOLD ON A MINUTE....IF IM UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO OWN A SECOND HOME I WILL HAVE TO PAY 125EU A YEAR!!! NOW TELL ME THIS, DO THESE EXCUSES FOR HUMAN BEINGS REALLY EXPECT THE IRISH PEOPLE TO JUST COUGH UP ONCE AGAIN WITHOUT A FIGHT...WELL THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR, NOT THIS TIME. OCTOBER 11th IS THE DAY WELL TELL THEM WHAT THEY CAN DO WITH THEIR WATER CHARGES!!!
