Mid-week turned gloomy at my household. Our pet-dog caught THE - TopicsExpress

Mid-week turned gloomy at my household. Our pet-dog caught THE deadly virus. The then puppy was a gift to Panganay on his birthday. Same when he got White-y, a dog we had for more than 10 years when it died. In a desperate attempt to save Big Fudge, Panganay rushed it to the vet. He cried when the vet told him 50-50. Still he went to the bank, took out some money he has been saving to buy a new laptop then paid the vet to do what he can. Asawa and I knew it was a futile attempt but I took out some cash and Asawa did the same. So as just to only lessen the heartbreak of losing a pet. Saturday mornings are normally busy. But today we were awfully quiet as we waited while doing chores. We all stayed home with Big Fudge in our midst.. We were looking on while it took its last gasping breath. With a pala on hand, youngest son poured out his grief while digging at the side of our house. We said our simple goodbyes and buried Big Fudge. As we gathered for late lunch, Asawa casually announced - Dont worry, kids. Maraming nag aalok sa akin kung gusto daw natin ng puppy. Suddenly, nabuhayan ang mga bata. Then there was a mad rush to catch up at work and choir rehearsal and what-what. And all is now quiet here at home. The huge cage stares back at me; now empty. I will surely miss Big Fudge and our quiet moments together with him licking my hand while I stroke its ears. Ciao for now, Big Fudgee Bar! Your silent bark keeps ringing in my ears
