Minor Hurling Div 2 Championship - St Oliver Plunketts v Turin Our minors played Turin in Robinstown on Sunday morning in the Div 2 championship. On a morning that wet weather & strong winds made hurling difficult St Oliver Plunketts got off to a good start and after 8 minutes were three points to the good through scores from Paddy Lynam (Penalty & Free) & Danny Purcell. Turin, playing this first half with a strong wind in their backs, took the next point which was balanced out by a lovely point from Andy Allen. A fantastic piece of hurling that was started in the backs with input from Ryan Purcell, Lynam & Donal Liddy was finished to the net by Dylan Ledwith for the home side. Further points in the latter part of the first half from Turin & Allen brought the half time score to OPHC 1:05 Turin 0:02. The second half started with two quick points from Turin, split by a Lynam pointed free. The next four scores, all points, were to the home side with one each from Liddy & Allen followed by two more frees from Lynam. In the 55th minute Turin scored a goal to reduce the scores to a six point margin. Turin then had two players sent off in quick succession and failed to score after that.
