July 29, 2013 THE WONDERS OF HIS PEACE Philippians 4:6-7 KEY SCRIPTURE: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). Today, we shall consider the wonders of His peace. To the ordinary man, peace can be regarded as the absence of trouble or having satisfaction and comfort of life. But peace is a spiritual virtue which cannot be attained by accumulation of material wealth but by the Spirit of God as a fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22). The peace of God begins with allowing Jesus to reign in your heart because He is the Prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6) and He gives peace to mankind. He says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). The devil and his kingdom always cause trouble, chaos, unrest and anything that could rob people of peace but as a child of God, you are entitled to the peace of God by all means through the power of God. “Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all” (2 Thess. 3:16). Whenever you are faced with opposing and terrifying situations, pray instead of getting worried and disturbed; don’t be like the Disciples of Christ who were afraid when they saw the storm. Beloved, prayer and thanksgiving over your circumstance will give you joy and peace. “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6-7). Read and Meditate: John 14:27 Prayer: Father, keep my heart in perfect peace all the days of my life in Jesus name. Intercession: Pray for Eritrea. Christian population: 47.43% (Evangelical: 1.7%). Pray that there be a powerful revival that will enlarge the body of Christ in the land.
