Monday: Christians as Conduits May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21 When those who work with the word of God have an understanding about the way the kingdom of God works and they are filled with faith, hope and love, they are by their very nature linked to the effect to be brought about. Their way of being forms the appropriate conduit to connect the supply of God’s power to the situation requiring God’s power. They form a natural (though really supernatural) path from the Great Influencer to the situation or person needing influence—that he may work in us (Hebrews 13:21). This process occurs because the all-present, all-powerful, all-knowing divine mind of God mediates between the word spoken by his faithful servant on his behalf and the waves or rocks needing attention or the body or mind needing to be healed. PRAY: Ask God to prepare you to be a faithful, hopeful and loving conduit in your very nature between himself and the hard places and rough situations around you and in the world.
