My 180 Day Journey; Body Transformation. Day 17 of 180. My - TopicsExpress

My 180 Day Journey; Body Transformation. Day 17 of 180. My 10:00AM weigh-in I am 271.8 LBS Down 23.6lbs in 16 days. It is amazing what the human body is capable of doing, when given the opportunity. Today starts my seventeenth day without any complex carbohydrates yet my energy levels are better than theyve been in years. Im actually sleeping all night long without waking up! Im not drowning in mucus caused by candida overgrowth anymore so my sinuses and throat is clear and I sleep much sounder simply because Im getting better oxygen flow at night. This 180 Day Journey is not just about weight loss, its about taking control of my health! So many of us wait until our health has become so bad that in many cases its too late. I decided that I would take a proactive step and not wait until I had my first heart attack or stroke. I realize there is no guarantee in life but I sure can minimize my risks by taking the steps in watching what I eat and by regular exercise 3-5 times a week. Ive been a competitive athlete my entire life I started boxing at age 11 and had a successful amateur and professional career in the ring, I raced bicycles soon after I retired from the ring and then I started Powerlifting and ended up becoming a World Champion as a Super Heavy Weight over 308LBS. I purposely ate my way up so that I could compete with the big boys and was successful in both, gaining weight and winning! After I retired from competitive lifting though my appetite did not. (LOL) My body composition slowly began to change, I lost muscle from lack of use and I added body fat because I was not burning the calories anymore lifting heavy weight. My weight actually went down under 300lbs but the body fat went way up. That is when I really started having problems again with GOUT, Arthritis and blood pressure. My cravings for sugar was higher than it had ever been I look back now and think eating more junk food replaced my time in the gym. (I know stupid right!) The sugar gave me that fix I needed to get me through the day and that fix of sugar was destroying my health and my life. Ive been designing training programs and nutritional programs for athletes for over 30 years yet I was destroying my own body abusing foods (sugar) and ignoring all the signals Im trained to see in others! So here I am now 17 days into this 180 Day Body Transformation amazed at how fast my body is responding to the nutrition and exercise and regaining my health that I discarded years ago. Ive abused my body for years with toxic foods and the changes Im seeing in just the first few weeks are amazing. The human body can endure for a long time but eventually it will fail if you continue to abuse it. My goal here in addition to taking control of my health is to share my story to all of my 50+ friends out there that may need some changes in their lives too. Dont wait until its too late, take care of yourselves now and not let poor eating habits end your life too soon! Have a super day everyone!
