My Political Rant: If you are a woman and believe that there is a war on women led by one political party and championed by another, you have been fooled, or have chosen to believe this due to your ideological party beliefs. Are women discriminated against? Absolutely. . In fact, I believe they are the only true group of people that is actively discriminated against and woefully under represented. Their discrimination is silent, understated and inbred into our culture. However, if you believe that one party is going to help you over the other, you are simply a mark on a marketing chart of the men and women who drew up the campaign to convince you of this erroneous fact. Discrimination against women takes many shapes, however it is most prominent in the workplace. The easy jump as to why is pretty easy; most businesses are owned by men, and men are pigs. However, by in large, business owners across America are equally represented by Democrats and Republicans. They all follow the laws regarding discrimination, or else they get sued. The ideological argument could be made that; Republicans follow the law so they are not sued, and Democrats follow them because its the right thing to do. Regardless, they all follow the same laws that govern discrimination. So it goes to reason, its the laws that govern how women are paid that need to be changed. So why has a Democratically controlled Senate and Administration that invented the war on women not introduced any legislation that addresses the main issues that face women in the workplace over the last 8 years? For two years of the eight years, Democrats controlled the House and Senate. Which means, they controlled the Legislative and Executive branches of the Government ... and they did nothing to help women. Nothing, unless you count having birth control, that cost $10 a month for most women, pills included in Obamacare. Thats it. The Democrats have controlled the lawmaking process for the most part of a decade and all they have done is throw in free birth control pills. Then they demigod the issue at election time as if they have done some magnanimous break-through for all women who deal with discrimination in the real world. The Democrats have spent over two billion dollars promoting a war on women through national and local elections. Yet for eight years, they have done absolutely nothing that actively helps women. Nothing. Now that its election time again, they are going to trot out the same tired old lies to convince poorly informed women that Republicans want to push them back into the proverbial kitchen barefoot and pregnant. While statistically, Democrats in power positions in government are the worst offenders in under positioning and underpaying women. If I was a women, I would be insulted that they think I am so gullible that I will buy their marketing campaign over their actions, or inactions. If you buy the war on women ruse, you will pay the price in continued complacently and inaction on the real issues that affect women.
