My brother calls me the other day and asks if I got his earlier message, which I had not. I was concerned, was everyone OK? He started to tell me a story about the teenage girls in his neighborhood who had stopped by his house to look at his alpaca, but who left the gates open. He arrives home to see his wife driving frantically down the driveway, and she said that the dogs are loose! His big dog Misty is seen down the street with the neighbors chihuahua in her mouth. My brother takes the chihuahua to the emergency vet and spends a lot of money, but it seems that the story is a bit more complicated. The neighbor with the chihuahua lost another dog recently to the violent acts of another neighbors dog, which happened to be on the property just prior to this scenario, and it seems that Misty just may have picked up the injured chihuahua in an act of bravery, saving the little dog from the offender, but we have no actual proof. We shall see. Personally, I give Misty the award! And I give my brother the award for picking up the vet tab, even though it is not clear who was the real culprit.
