My daughters school - Ecole Francophone Pattaya - didnt bother telling me that they were shutting today. So a couple of meetings cancelled and I arrived at the Irish Rovers, 5 yo in tow, for a late brekkie, somewhat stressed. Not really hungry the choice was the baht buster at 99 baht including tea/coffee and orange juice.... or the light breakfast, probably not much more than half the quantity, 79 baht plus 40 baht extra for a cuppa and 80 baht for a fruit juice. 199 baht instead of 99. Hmm. If Id been a cheap charlie I suppose I could have ordered the baht buster and left half of it. But I was raised to finish what I had on the plate. So I bit the bullet, ordered the light version. It was ok, although the egg was a bit runny. Dont want to get into a debate with the boss again over this issue, but it doesnt seem too clever to me. Yes I know a business has to make a profit on some items, but this seems pretty nonsensical. Half the quantity, twice the price. Oh well. Make sure youre hungry if you go to I-Rovers for breakfast!
