My mother, her neighbors, my sister, Susan, and I sat on the deck - TopicsExpress

My mother, her neighbors, my sister, Susan, and I sat on the deck watching a sea plane land on the lake. And it crashed. I called 911 and told the woman who answered the phone that a plane just crashed into Stinson Lake and she yelled, "What?!?" (I thought these people were supposed to be calm and collected.) I tried to reassure her so I told her that it was only a small plane. Immediately about a dozen boats, including Jules in his boat, converged on the plane which was upside down in the lake. The pilot, his passenger, and his dog all got out safely. Then we watched as the police, fire engines, and ambulances arrived and I thought, "I did all that! I have power!" Our neighbor brought the pilot home to make some calls. Apparently he was doing a touch and go on the lake and as he was about to touch down on the lake, he realized his wheels were down. He gave a verbal command to the plane to retract the wheels but it was too late and he flipped over. Right now the plane is still upside down in the lake and tied to a tree while the pilot tries to figure out how to get it out of the water. It was a very exciting day and we are all so happy no one was hurt so we could make jokes about it. And perhaps tomorrow it will be exciting to watch how an upside down plane gets taken out of the lake.
