My very dear house girl, MARY MAE, who was with me since 1992 and looked after Mama & me at Kolaa Ridge died last night of ovarian cancer. She was just stage 2 but was sent home by the doctor because our hospital cant treat her any longer. IEven if she wasnt my housegirl anymore when I worked for another Company, she would still come to me and through the years , I treated her just like any sister. She came back and helped me again when I put up the bakery. I had to make her redundant because she alsways sick. She opted to go home to her home in Choiseul and died. To my dear sister, Mary, wherever you are now, rest in peace. Thank you for making me feel the love and care of a sister and for taking care of Mama when she was here and I was busy at work. I will miss you truly. I am sad and angry that just a Stage 2 cancer is so hard to treat here. How I wish all those donors , all those who care to help Solomon Islands make health a priority on all those funding. To all my Soroptimist sisters (especially those who started with us the Paps Smear Clinic, pls. continue helping out the SI women. We need you not give up! We need your help.
