NC 215 & US 276 - I STILL CANT BELIEVE IT!!! They (I am ready to kiss whoever they are, THANK YOU!) are laying down a sweet, sweet coating of beautiful asphalt over the nice tar & chip job on these two spectacular motorcycle rides. Here are photos from September 7, 2014 (today) of sections of both roads. THIS IS THE RIDE(S) YOU WANT TO DO THIS FALL! The work is still in progress and there will be some sporadic closures over the next week or so, but they dont work on the weekends. The end result is so, so nice. After the Blue Ridge Parkway, I now consider these roads (see the link) the best rides in the Smoky Mountains. NC 215 and US 276 meet in Bethel, NC, about 6 miles south of Waynesville. They both head south, both cross and junction with the Blue Ridge Parkway, and there are several great roads which run between them. While I posted info on these great loop rides just a couple days ago, here it is again so you can enjoy them.
