Over the weekend the expo will be proud to have on its main stage 2 great local bands featured on Triple J’s unearthed. The Merrys Drawing you in with their enchanting melodies, Sunshine Coast brother/sister duo The Merrys are an exciting new band on the scene. Ellie and Jordy Merry cite influences like Tigertown, The Paper Kites and Milo Greene and look to bring their folk/pop sound to a stage near you! Local Sunshine Coast venues such as Solbar, Café Envy & Kings Beach Tavern have had the pleasure of enjoying The Merrys perform and now they look set to spread their wings nationally with the launch of their debut single “We Don’t Know”. Christian Patey He’s a banjo playing, vegie patch tending surfer and he wants you to join him for a nice cup of Sweet Summer Tea. Christian Patey, of Sunshine Coast band Rev Sunday fame, has released his first solo EP, recorded at Vault Studios. And over that cuppa he’s keen to share tales of life, love and the future. Sweet Summer Tea is a dreamy, acoustic treat, with the banjo the backdrop for Christian’s lyrics. Build Bridges Where the Rivers Are is super special. It’s an ode to pursuing your dreams, which features a kid’s chorus. The littlies have their entire future ahead of them. It’s a poignant reminder to always keep striving to achieve, no matter what the obstacles. Mobile site launch To go with our new look website the Australian Surfing Sports Expo will launch our new mobile site on February 5th. The mobile site will give users of smart phone access to expo maps, time tables, latest updates and specials in real time. Watch out for all the information in the next A.S.S.E Press release. Sites are getting bigger Many companies are getting excited with the expo only a couple of weeks away. As exhibitors plan out their sites and mock up their layouts, some just need more room and are increasing the size of their sites. FOUND Boards is the latest in the line of companies to not only increase the size of their site, but doubling it ! While companies like Komunity Project, Coreban SUP Gear, Anywater, Strapz and Surf World have all increased their space over the past few months to gain greater exposure and easier access to their site for the public, New Prizes added S.E.A is proud to announce newly added prizes to our Massive Give A Way competition. By simply “liking” and “sharing” posted content from our Facebook page and subscribing to our newsletter via the Expo’s website you go into the running to win an ever growing prize package. Shaping booth and surf simulator Huge news has just been dropped in our lap that not only will be having the Dick Harvey Shaping Booth with live shaping demonstrations, but now we will also have Australia’s only indoor virtual surfing simulator. Our genuine surf simulator has just arrived Down Under direct from Hawaii, where surfing and surf simulators were born, to deliver excitement at any trade show display, themed party, promotion, grand opening, Hawaiian or surfing style party, team building activities, corporate events and more! So come down and check it out. Fashion shows As companies start to plan their sites at the Expo several will be using the time to display their latest and upcoming lines for the year. Handsome Me, Cleonie and Aledio have all booked time on the main stage and will create a focus point for people’s interest with their fashion shows. Models, music and choreographed catwalk shows will be a major feature of the Expo as will product launches and informational lectures. Over the next few weeks when launch dates and further lines are released the Australian Surfing Sports Expo will be announcing several more of these events. Excitement on the River The permits are approved, the water safety staff will be on hand and the action will be on the Nerrang River. The expo will have a viewing platform balcony overlooking the river where you will be able to view our water demonstrations from some of Australia’s leading companies. The final details of these demonstrations and, possible, test rides are in there final stages of conformation and will bring you all the details as soon as they come to hand.
