NFL 1/4 Pole Obeservations NFC East Phi - much more resilient team than I expected. They are in games even when their offense doesnt score a point. Foles is wildly inconsistent after playing mostly lights out last year. Team may be better with Sanchez - yeah, I said that. Dal - how bout those Cowboys? Man, when they run the ball more than passing they are a solid team! Murray leads the NFL in rushing. NYG - really starting to come on now. Will see if they are real in 2 weeks versus Philly Was - fraud team, Cousins is not a starting QB. Their best bet is to get RGIII healthy and re-design the offense. Defense needs major help. NFC North Det - they seem to be tougher and smarter this year. Defense much improved. Could take division. Vik - up and down. If Bridgewater stays upright and healthy they can compete. If not, they will take the cellar GB - look to be warming up after looking bad for 3 weeks. Not sold on them yet though Chi - Cutler regressing to become the same old INT Cutler. Forte slow start. Allen is doing nothing for them. Defense looks old NFC South Atl - they are who we thought they were! They, like the Saints, are two different teams home and away. Their defense is bad. Still probably win the division. Car - real smart move letting Steve Smith go - idiots. They have Benjamin and a collection of stiffs like Jason Avant at WR. And people wonder why Cam isnt putting up big numbers. If Cam had a real WR core he would be a top 3 NFL QB. NO - the Saints are cooked. Their defense has completely fallen apart and Brees looks old. Their window may have closed. TB - big upset win over Pitt. They need to bench McCown and play the young guy. NFC West AZ - Cardinals are not going anywhere. They are a solid team and if they had a top QB they might be a Super Bowl favorite. THey are the only team to win IN Seattle the last two years. Dont sleep on this team. Sea - still the champs until someone knocks them off. The D has slipped from last year. They can be beat if you have a good TE and a good slot WR. But Wilson is playing better than ever. Still have a shot to repeat. SF - lost too many people on defense and Kap is too hot and cold. The 49ers have to weather the storm and be withing striking distance when Aldon Smith comes back to challenge for SB SL - this team is toast. No QB, no heart AFC East NE - the Pats are not nearly as good as peopl think. They barely beat the Raiders at home. Bill B refusal to get quality WRs is really hurting Brady. I dont see this team in the Super Bowl at all. Buf - a young team still learning. They can get a surprise win here and there but not ready yet. Mia - this team is all over the map. They beat good teams and lose to bad teams. Tannehill has to bring it every week for them to compete for a playoff spot. NYJ - Geno Smith is killing this team right now. They might consider playing Vic. On the other side of the ball, they have no CBs at all. Think they should have signed Revis? AFC North Cin - Bengals are the class of the AFC right now. Best defense in the NFL and an efficient offense. Now they just have to do it in the playoffs Bal - Ravens have finally shaken off the Ray Rice stuff and are playing real football. They are looking more like a playoff team now and Steve Smith is kicking! Pit - a shell of their former selves. Their defense cant make any plays with the game on the line. Team is imploding Cle - the Manziel sideshow is a distraction. improved defense but inconsistent offense. AFC South Hou - JJ Watt and the defense lead this team. Can they hold off the Colts with no QB? I dont think so. Ind - Luck is finally heating up. Their defense is very suspect though. Their inability to rush the passer will mean another early playoff loss. Ten - team is falling apart after opening with a shocking win. Not enough talent. not a factor Jax - dont know if this team could beat a top college team. Easy win for opponents AFC West SD - Chargers are probably the 3rd or 4th best team in the NFL right now. Rivers is on fire and I think they can upset the Broncos and take the division. Right now, Chargers and Bengals are good bets for the AFC CG Den - offense has dropped off big time from last year. Defense is better but Manning is hitting nothing down the field. Beginning of the end for Peyton KC - last year was a fluke. Andy has a mediocre team Oak - after showing some fight at New England they have fallen apart now and are leading for #1 pick in the draft
