NJ TODAY The campaign manager for Eck, the Somerset County doctor running against Lonegan in the Republican primary, said today that the state is "still waiting for him to accept responsibility and apologize." "There is a difference between being politically correct and exercising common human decency, neither of which his campaign receives high marks for this week," Thomas Roberts said in a statement. This isn’t the first time Lonegan has faced criticism over racially tinged incidents. In 2006, he spoke out again to a McDonald’s billboard in Spanish in Bogota and proposed making English the official language of the Bergen County borough. The billboard stayed and the proposal was taken off the ballot.
