#NSW Fire Weather Warning for the Far North Coast, North Coast, Greater Hunter, New England, Northern Slopes, North Western and Upper Central West Plains fire areas Issued at 4:29 am EDT on Monday 27 October 2014. Weather Situation A vigorous trough extends across New South Wales today associated with hot, dry and very windy conditions over most of the state. Ahead of the trough winds will be northeast to northwesterly tending south to southwesterly behind the change. Dry thunderstorms are possible over much of state in the vicinity of the trough. For the rest of Monday 27 October: Severe Fire Danger is forecast for the following fire areas: Far North Coast, North Coast, Greater Hunter, New England, Northern Slopes, North Western and Upper Central West Plains The NSW Rural Fire Service warns that any bushfire that starts has the potential to threaten lives and destroy homes.
