Namibia, Vingerklip. Km 2728. After an enjoyable day off that included horseback riding in the lunar landscape of Swakopmund we headed north alongside the Skeleton Coast to the Zeila Shipwreck in Henties bay. The Skeleton coast has hundreds of shipwrecks some dating as old as 1909. As we departed the shipwreck the wind picked up heavily and we were pelted by a sand storm in a completely barren landscape that made it quite difficult to see the road plus it ruined my Go Pro housing. It was tiring/hard controlling the front end while riding on sand and wind gusts. After we arrived towards the mountain the sand dunes gave way to once again vegetation, trees and lots of farm land. As we approached the lodge I stopped to purchase a necklace from the traditional ladies in the area who either are topless wearing mud in their hair making into interesting dreadlocks and the ones that wear Victorian style dresses with interesting headgear. They were nice and asked if I had food and or sweets to give them but I only had a bottle of water to share which they accepted. The lodge was breath taking with incredible views which included a water hole with African deer, Baboons as well as Giraffe and Zebra. Another fantastic day in this journey.
